Business Project 2 - Charity Drive Event

This project gives the students opportunity to run a mock business venture and thereby gain the relevant practical experiences. For the last purpose, the students will donate 100% of the profits earned from the project to a charitable organization of their choice.

The Brief

For this project, I teamed up with Hazel, Nick and Wei Zheng. Hazel was elected as group leader and I  became the accountant.

During group discussion, we came out with multiple ideas, but at last we decided to sell food and beverage such as:

  • Bread Pudding
  • Seaweed Popiah
  • Sweet Corn
  • Fruits
  • Homemade Cookies
The report was divided into 4 parts so each of us had done our part and sent them to Hazel in the end to compile the final report.

Our Report

Our Presentation Video

From this project, we improved our communication skills, most prominently on ways to persuade others. For an introvert and shy person like me, I used to have a hard time reaching out to people and speak up to them. Furthermore, we need to promote our products to complete strangers so that we could reach our target which is RM 2,500 for profit wise only.

I learnt that earning money is not an easy as the process of promotion and selling was more energy-consuming than we thought, especially we were selling food and beverage. We all were very tired throughout the five days, but we still need to do it as to hit our target.

My favorite moment was there were friends and strangers who would approach us for our products and it feels really great when there are actually money coming in. Personally, this project is a great experience for me. I felt that I gained a lot from this project.
