I used Adobe InDesign to arrange texts, diagrams and photos of my coffee table book. As shown below, I am 90% done with the first 6 pages.
After some personal research, I decided to go to Mummy Design Printing Service to print my coffee table book. It is just located within a walking distance of Vision Art and The One Academy.
For this weekly journal, I am going to show the draft layout of my coffee table book. Below are the general ideas for the book. As for the content, I am still seeking approval on the confirmed pictures so that I can proceed to photo editing and composition.
Draft Layout
Below are some examples of my coffee table book layout.
For last week journal, I posted the overview of the photos that I've taken in Kampung Baru Repas, Bentong, but the result is not that good. At last, I decided to change the location to Laman Seni 7, Shah Alam. So, I had filter the photos and categorised them into three main categories:
For this week progress, we are asked to go out and start taking photos during the weekends. Therefore, I went back to my hometown, Bentong that I've chosen for my first choice. I managed to document people, spaces and activities in the village for my chosen theme.
Kampung Baru Repas, Bentong
Kampung Baru Repas is a small historical village in Bentong. Along the street, is a series of old triditional chinese houses. In other hand, there are also some old shops and old kopitiam in the village. Today, the young ones, who no longer depend on living in the village, had moved out. Most of the villagers in the village is the elders who still enjoy the countryside lifestyle.
It's wonderful one day trip back to my hometown to observe what people do in the village. I've discovered a interesting countryside lifestyle compare to the downtown lifestyle in the city. That is what I want to capture.
