For this last project of Culture and Civilization, we are learning the outcome throughout the year, Art + Architecture + Culture. In this weekly journal, we were asked to do research on literature, theme and places on the chosen topic from this project. My chosen topic is Space and People.
Space and people
Besides open area, spaces also include the environment of a place and the elements. Each object serves a purpose to make the environment comfortable and helps interact with people. Whether if it's natural or built, wide or narrow, public or private, crowded or empty, each has a purpose which is to provide a specific type of interactive environment for the people.

Submission Requirement
Part I: Literature research on the place of interest, theme and connection between historical, architecture and social aspects.
Part II: Coffee Table Book (A5 format size). Progress and compilation of weekly journal via e-portfolio. (*special tab for project 3)
Part III: 1 minute video montage of 10 best photos. (Complete information of designer, lecturer, module and university's information)
In this assignment, we need to form a group of 10 students. The group will be given specific civilization to study on. Elements such as the culture, administration, social strata, tradition and history or myth are to be researched and analyzed. All the information are to be presented in a online padlet and also a role play.
Individually, we need to study the character portrayed by ourselves in the act and present it in a A5 booklet. The final submission as a group will be a 20 minutes act in lecture theatre.
The Brief
For this assignment, I teamed up with Nick, Hazel, Zia Huei, Riven, Cindy, Lee Ning, Miaw and Alan. We were given the civilization "PORTUGAL" by ballot. All our research information is present in a online padlet. The padlet can be access by pressing the photo below.
During a tutorial class, we need to create paper dolls for each our characters. Lots of fun were shared while we are making the dolls. However, our dolls look hideous. Therefore, we recreated them after the tutorial class.
After finalize the script, we practiced the play together. A week before the actual performance, we had to show some scenes of play on our padlet by presenting a short video.

PRESENTATION DAY
The presentation day fall on 23th of April 2015. That was funny that Nick with his queen costume. Whichever scene he in, the whole lecture theatre will full of laughter. However, I am glad that the play turned out well overall by being entertaining.

Our GROUP REPORT
First of all, this assignment is interesting as it gave us a whole new experiences. Most of us had experience crossdress throughout this assignment as we had a great time in it. Also, my understanding towards Portugal culture had increased all thanks to this awesome assignment.
As everyone had their own personal schedules and projects to handle with. Sometimes, it's very difficult to gather all of us at that point. However, we still managed to complete this assignment with all the requirement as a team.
Instead of paperwork assignment, all of us actually got the chance to act and participate the making of costume and props. I really glad that we helped each other as a team throughout the assignment. However, I get to see myself growing in knowledge and acting skills throughout this progress. The journey was really fun and unforgettable.
